| JOB SUMMARY- ABOUT THE ROLE | |||
| The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in planning directing & ensuring that manufacturing processes, materials & products meet stringent quality standards & customer expectations. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, & maintaining quality control systems that enhance product reliability & align compliance with industry regulations. The Quality Engineer collaborates closely with production teams, management & suppliers & any other cross-functional teams necessary to directly impact & drive production efficiency & materials, identify areas for improvement & to resolve quality issues resourcefully. By analyzing data & conducting root cause investigations, the engineer drives continuous improvement initiatives that reduce defects & increase detection & awareness while simultaneously optimizing manufacturing workflows. Ultimately, this role ensures that the company delivers high-quality products that upholds its reputation that satisfies customer requirements & product safety in a timely manner and contributes to sustainable business growth in a competitive market. | |||
| Educational Requirements: | |||
| · Associate’s degree level of knowledge in Applied Science and/or equivalent certifications as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE). | |||
| · Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing quality control. | |||
| Working Conditions: | |||
| · Physical demands required: Frequent reaching, talking, hearing, and near acuity. Occasional handling and fingering. | |||
| · Local short term travel (as required) | |||
| Environmental Conditions: | |||
| · Exposure to noise, atmospheric conditions, metal working fluids and moving mechanical parts of equipment, tools, or machinery | |||
| Minimum Qualifications: | |||
| · Certification as a Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or equivalent. | |||
| · Proven experience in quality engineering or quality assurance within a manufacturing environment. | |||
| · Strong knowledge of quality management systems such as IATF 16949: 2016 (ISO 9001 min) and other industry-specific standards. | |||
| · Experience with advanced quality tools such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), and Root Cause Analysis or equivalent problem solving. | |||
| · Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with attention to detail. | |||
| Preferred Qualifications: | |||
| · Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and quality improvement methodologies like Six Sigma (Green Belt) or Lean Manufacturing Principals. | |||
| · Familiarity with manufacturing software systems including ERP (SAP), data analysis tools and quality management software. | |||
| · Knowledge of regulatory requirements relevant to the manufacturing sector, such as ISO/TS standards. | |||
| · Strong communication skills for training and mentoring team members on quality best practices. | |||
| · Strong project management skills and experience leading cross-functional quality improvement projects. | |||
| Responsibilities: | |||
| · Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection methods and procedures and testing protocols for product compliance within manufacturing processes. | |||
| · Conduct regular product, process and system audits including inspections and Gage R&R's periodically to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations. | |||
| · Analyze and monitoring of quality data and metrics to identify trends, root cause of defects, and areas for process improvement and new product development. | |||
| · Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, customers and supply chain to resolve quality issues. | |||
| · Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives to address non-conformances and prevent recurrence. | |||
| · Support supplier quality management by evaluating supplier performance and conducting supplier audits. | |||
| · Prepare detailed quality reports and documentation to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders. | |||
| · Reviews S.P.C data and implements necessary corrective actions to improve process capability. | |||
| · Responsible for preparation and review of customer and supplier PPAP’s. | |||
| · Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility. | |||
| · Responsible for adherence to all company safety and housekeeping rules. | |||
| Skills: | |||
| In this role, you will use strong analytical skills to interpret complex quality data, identify trends affecting product performance, and diagnose root causes of defects. Your expertise in quality management systems and statistical tools will guide the development, refinement, and optimization of manufacturing processes to ensure consistent compliance, efficiency, and high product quality. Problem-solving abilities will be applied daily to conduct root cause analyses and implement effective corrective and preventive actions. Through effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams, production staff, suppliers, and management, you will foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement. Additionally, your proficiency with quality tools, software, and project management practices will support process monitoring, risk mitigation, training initiatives, and the successful execution of quality improvement efforts. | |||
