About This Position
Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) seeks a friendly, energetic, and organized person to join our Member Services Representative team. Be part of a supportive, mission-driven team helping our members (State, Teacher, and Participating Local District employees) navigate important milestones in their employment and retirement journey.If you’re detail-oriented, able to multi-task, , and enjoy helping people understand complex information, this role offers meaningful work with real impact.What You’ll DoYour primary responsibilities focus on:High quality and high-volume customer service - assisting our members over the phone and in person at various stages of their membership.Receive and review paperwork to ensure thorough and accurate completionProcess changesRetrieving account information for members and explaining the information to themWhat Helps You SucceedCustomer-service mindset with patience and professionalismStrong attention to detail and organization skillsAbility to multi-task and redirect focus with frequent phone interruptionsAbility to explain complex information clearly and professionallyComfort working with documentation, records, and data entryAbility to follow detailed procedures while multitaskingRequired Minimum Qualifications:A high school diploma or equivalent plus1 to 2 years of demonstrated successful customer service experience by phone and/or in personNotary Public or ability and willingness to obtain Notary Public capabilitiesPreferred Qualifications:Associates Degree or 4 years of responsible, self-directed work experience in an office environment with customer service focus with call center experience preferred.

Salary: Begins at $43,659 if annualized.Benefits: We offer an outstanding benefit package including: 13 Paid Holidays, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance (fully paid), Vision Care, Life Insurance, Defined Benefit Pension Plan, Deferred Compensation Plan, substantial Tuition Reimbursement, Parental leave, Generous Vacation and Sick Leave. Eligible for a hybrid work schedule after a successful probationary period.

Monday through Friday 7:30am - 4pm
40 hours per week/80 hours per pay period
