Communication Strategist II
We are seeking a Guest Operations Specialist to support mission‑critical tours, VIP engagements, large‑scale guest events, media escorting, and public‑facing activities that showcase NASA's work. This role represents JSC to media, dignitaries, partner organizations, educators, and guests—ensuring every visit reflects NASA's standards of excellence, safety, and hospitality.
Communication Strategist II – NASA Johnson Space Center
We are seeking a Guest Operations Specialist to support mission‑critical tours, VIP engagements, large‑scale guest events, media escorting, and public‑facing activities that showcase NASA's work. This role represents JSC to media, dignitaries, partner organizations, educators, and guests—ensuring every visit reflects NASA's standards of excellence, safety, and hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
• Quickly gain fluency in NASA/JSC missions, facilities, and operational processes.
• Coordinate and execute guest operations for high‑visibility events, including launches, mission milestones, crew return activities, and major agency engagements.
• Develop, manage, and vet guest lists for events ranging from high‑visibility programs to employee engagement activities.
• Coordinate approval and clearance processes for guest attendance, ensuring compliance with NASA policies, security requirements, and leadership protocols.
• Design and maintain seating charts and event layouts for high‑level events to ensure appropriate protocol placement and stakeholder representation.
• Use software platforms—including Salesforce and Eventbrite—to implement guest plans and support event execution.
• Manage guest check‑in processes, including credentialing, registration systems, on‑site verification, and coordination with security teams.
• Support protocol needs for distinguished visitors, senior NASA leadership, international delegations, and government officials.
• Plan and coordinate VIP tours of JSC, including itinerary development, stakeholder coordination, strategic collaboration, and logistical planning.
• Facilitate celebrity and high‑profile guest engagements in coordination with NASA leadership, legal, and security teams to ensure appropriate messaging and involvement.
• Provide end‑to‑end event planning support, including logistics, venue coordination, run‑of‑show development, guest flow, transportation, and contingency planning.
• Coordinate with internal NASA organizations, contractors, and external partners to ensure seamless execution of guest operations and event activities.
• Lead mission‑viewing events, employee engagement activities, and public‑facing programs tied to major NASA milestones.
• Maintain accurate records and tracking systems for guest attendance, invitations, and event participation.
• Ensure all guest operations and events align with NASA brand standards, communications guidance, and agency policies.
• Provide on‑site event management and troubleshooting to ensure successful execution and a positive guest experience.
• Contribute to post‑event reporting, lessons‑learned documentation, and process improvements.
