This role is responsible for leading the commercialization strategy and execution for Point of Care (POC) and Molecular (MDx) diagnostic products across North America. The Director will oversee marketing plans, product positioning, launches, and promotional initiatives while managing a team of marketing managers. This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with sales, clinical, regulatory, and external partners, as well as hands-on leadership in program development and execution. The role offers a dynamic environment where strategic thinking, creativity, and data-driven decision-making come together to drive market leadership and revenue growth. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in diagnostics marketing with team leadership and a passion for delivering impactful healthcare solutions.
- Lead and manage a team of marketing managers responsible for the POC and MDx product portfolio, providing guidance on content creation, budgets, advertising, promotions, and training initiatives.
- Develop and execute marketing plans to support product launches, annual operating plans, and targeted market strategies, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Segment markets and define product positioning, messaging, and selling strategies for assigned products.
- Track, analyze, and adjust marketing initiatives based on sales performance, financial impact, and market insights.
- Drive field initiatives including sales incentive programs, contests, and segment-specific strategies to achieve revenue goals.
- Build and maintain key opinion leader (KOL) relationships and advisory panels to support product adoption and education.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, clinical, regulatory, and distribution to ensure marketing strategies are effectively executed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the diagnostics industry; 12+ years preferred.
- Proven experience in product marketing, sales management, or product launches within life sciences or in vitro diagnostics (IVD).
- At least 3 years of team leadership experience, with the ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
- Strong strategic thinking, project management, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to execute market research, voice-of-customer initiatives, and competitive analyses.
- Knowledge of Point of Care testing, MDx commercialization, and financial analysis including ROI, costing, and margin calculations.
- Ability to travel up to 20% for meetings, trade shows, and field engagements.
- Flexibility to adapt in a dynamic environment and work autonomously in a remote office setting.
