Position Summary
We are currently seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Sandblaster to join our team in Surrey BC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces by removing rust, paint, and other contaminants using abrasive blasting equipment. This is a hands-on role that plays a critical part in ensuring components are properly prepped for the next phase of the production process.
This position is 100% on-site, located at 18920 36 Ave, Surrey, BC
Shift:
Monday to Friday, Afternoon Shift - 2:00pm to 10:30pm
Responsibilities
- Operate sandblasting equipment to remove paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt from metal parts and surfaces.
- Ensure proper control of pressure and direction of abrasive material to prevent surface damage.
- Load abrasive materials such as sand or grit into hoppers and monitor levels to maintain consistent flow.
- Lift, carry, and position heavy parts and equipment onto racks, into barrels, or blasting cabinets as needed.
- Prepare parts for the paint shop, including steam cleaning motors, chassis, and general surface preparation.
- Perform routine maintenance on sandblasting equipment, including cleaning and replacing nozzles.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area; report or correct any unsafe working conditions immediately.
- Perform other general labour tasks and duties as assigned.

- Previous experience in sandblasting, surface preparation, or similar industrial/labour roles preferred.
- Ability to work with heavy equipment and lift/push/pull objects as required.
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding, dusty, and noisy environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
- Capable of working independently and within a team.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Lifting: Able to lift at least 35 pounds unassisted.
- Standing: Requires prolonged periods of standing while operating the brake press and performing tasks.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for operating controls, manipulating parts, and handling measurement tools.
- Repetitive Motion: Repetitive bending, reaching, and pushing of machine controls.
- Vision: Must be able to see and interpret blueprints, measurements, and other documentation accurately, often working with small or detailed components.
- Physical Stamina: Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment with periodic heavy lifting and manual tasks.
- Mobility: Requires movement between workstations, lifting, and positioning metal plates or components.
- Kneeling or Stooping: Occasional kneeling or stooping may be required when placing or adjusting parts or machines.
