Position Summary:
The Case Manager provides trauma-informed, housing-focused case management to families residing in the Tamarac Family Emergency Non-Congregate Shelter. This role supports residents in achieving housing stability by motivating guests to participate regularly in wraparound services, conducting assessments, developing service plans, and connecting families to additional external resources including housing, employment, healthcare, and supportive services.

Mission of Role:
Bayaud Works provides critical services and expertise in short- and long-term homeless sheltering, non-congregate and congregate emergency sheltering, and workforce support services. General Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive case management services including intake, assessment, service planning, and follow-up on barriers to housing identified using expert knowledge.
- Maintains a (1 to 30 or less) caseload, modeling best practices for the case management team.
- Assist families in identifying housing barriers and developing individualized housing stability plans.
- Connect residents to appropriate community resources, benefits, and services based on needs and goals identified.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in HMIS and case files, adhering to HOST defined data quality and standards.
- Facilitate resident participation in programming, workshops, and referrals.
- Support residents in crisis intervention and creative problem-solving and intervention as needed.
- Advocate for residents with landlords, housing providers, and service agencies as needed while encouraging the goal of independence and autonomy.
- Collaborate with Lead Case Manager and Program Manager to ensure program compliance and quality of services.
- Participate in case conferencing, peer learning, and staff meetings.
- Ensure compliance with HOST Shelter Standards, grievance procedures, and sensitivity training requirements.
- Other duties as assigned by the Lead Case Manager or Program Manager.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of housing systems, family homelessness, and supportive services offered in the Denver Metro area. Research skills and networking will be vital to this skill.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to provide trauma-informed, equitable, and culturally responsive services.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to build effective relationships with residents, landlords, and community service providers.
Expected Hours of Work:
Varies – 24/7 Shelter Operations (Evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required)
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend, and engage in active programming with children.
- Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, including in community settings.

Work Environment:
Bayaud Works is a subsidiary of AC Disaster Consulting. Our Temporary Staffing Service partners with Federal, State, City, County, and private employers to provide high-quality staffing and operational support. Bayaud Works was created to provide opportunities for individuals with barriers to employment and has since expanded to include shelter management, safety patrol, janitorial services, and transportation operations.
Experience and Education Required:
- Associates degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum 2 years experience in case management, housing navigation, or human services.
Experience and Education Preferred:
- Experience with HMIS or similar data systems preferred.
- Experience working with families experiencing homelessness preferred.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
