Essential Responsibilities:

  • Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning team members, following up on work results.
  • Leads, trains & mentors team members including recruitment and hiring, coaching, development, performance evaluations, and progressive discipline.
  • Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • The ability to manage daily store operations, including cash handling and financial reporting.
  • Keeps Area Manager / RDO promptly and fully informed of all issues (i.e. problems, unusual matters of significance, and positive events) and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggests alternative courses of action.
  • Identifies current and future guest requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual guests.
  • Ensures availability of merchandise and services by reviewing contracts and submitting them for approval, maintaining inventories.
  • Formulates pricing policies by reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends; doing competitive pricing checks; ensuring all variance reports are completed in a timely manner.
  • Markets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analyzing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios all while using the Macadoodles merchandising guide.
  • Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
  • Provides all team members and guests with a safe and clean store environment.
  • Understanding of commitment to uphold compliance with all federal, state, and local alcohol laws and regulations. All proper licensing and training completed by all team members
  • Manages shifts, to include daily decision making, scheduling, and planning while upholding company standards, product quality and cleanliness.
  • Determines marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in local and area business organizations.
  • Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains O’Reach, OHX Experience, Green Team initiatives, Health and Wellness, and Safety committee in conjunction with other OHM owned properties.
  • Prepares end of the month purchasing requests for scheduled time to discuss at least one week before the end of the month, which includes all departments
  • Communicates weekly reports re-cap by the designated deadline.
  • Communicates monthly financials to Area General Manager, RDO and CEO within 3 business days of the P&L being released.
  • Holds weekly meetings with department leaders.
  • Holds monthly team member meetings.
  • Follows all OHM Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Ensures the appropriate guidelines are followed per company policy for all OHM and Macadoodles events.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.
  • Verbally communicates with managers, team members, guests, and the general public in a positive manner.
  • Embraces O’Reach, OHX Experience, Green Team, Guest Service, Team Member Satisfaction, Health & Wellness, and Safety culture.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel.)
  • Strong leadership, management, organizational and communication skills.
  • The ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to deliver results.
  • The ability to work well with, as well as motivate, a variety of personality types and maintain tact and diplomacy throughout all interactions.
  • The ability to multitask and prioritize.

Hours:

  • Due to the nature of the business, scheduling may vary and include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Education & Experience:

  • Previous experience managing a wine, beer, or spirits retail store required. Two years of experience is preferred.
  • Proven management experience in retail, hospitality, or a customer-facing environment.
  • Strong leadership with experience in hiring, training, and developing staff.
  • Experience in maximizing sales and profitability through strategic merchandising and marketing.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Prior bartending experience is preferred.
  • Certification to serve alcohol as directed by state and local laws required.

Physical Requirements of the Position:

  • Light Work: Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time), and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 to 2/3 of the time), and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists up to 2/3 or most of the time) to move objects. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
  • May be required to lift in excess of 50 pounds on occasion.
  • Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to safely interact with guests, monitor store operations, and identify safety hazards.

Physical Activity of the Position:

  • Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, picking/pinching with fingers, typing, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motion.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and stoop to stock shelves, retrieve inventory, and maintain displays.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the store for extended periods of time, often up to an entire shift.

Environmental Conditions:

Inside: Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. A job is considered “inside” if the worker spends approximately 75 percent or more of the time inside.
