Gulf Coast Panama Jack – Wholesale Beach Product Distributor

Gulf Coast Panama Jack is a leading nationwide wholesale distributor of beach and lifestyle products, including Sunglasses, Footwear, Headwear, Beach Apparel, Towels, Umbrellas, Chairs, Beach Games & Accessories, and Boards.

We are seeking a highly creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer / Illustrator to join our team. This is a dynamic, hands-on role that blends graphic design, light illustration, and product development. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys seeing products move from concept to completion.

This position will support both marketing initiatives and product development efforts, working closely with the Art Director, Buying Manager, and Marketing Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Development & Illustration:

  • Assist in product development from concept through final production.
  • Develop artwork, logos, and brand-specific merchandising graphics.
  • Create factory-ready Adobe Illustrator technical/spec sheets detailing:
    • Artwork placement
    • Pantone colors
    • Product Dimensions
    • Fonts
    • Construction and production notes
  • Correspond with factory liaisons regarding artwork approvals, revisions, and sample reviews.
  • Review product samples and provide clear feedback for corrections.
  • Recolor, redraw, and modify artwork as needed for various product applications.
  • Develop cohesive and dynamic color stories using Pantone swatches.
  • Assist the Art Director in artwork and color development across product categories.

Catalog & Marketing Design:

  • Design and produce the company’s annual full product catalog.
  • Develop multiple customer-focused catalogs throughout the year.
  • Create large-format signage and in-store merchandising graphics.
  • Design product header cards, branding tags, and display materials.
  • Create marketing materials including:
    • Social media graphics
    • Website visuals
    • Product packaging
    • Advertisements
  • Prepare properly formatted files for print and web (PDF and digital versions).
  • Maintain organized project files and version control.

Photography & Content Support:

  • Conduct light product photography.
  • Prepare and format product images for catalogs, web use, and marketing materials.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
  • 5+ years of active graphic design experience.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both graphic design and illustration work.
  • Advanced proficiency in:
    • Adobe InDesign
    • Adobe Photoshop
    • Adobe Illustrator
    • Adobe Creative Suite
    • Developing and managing large, multi-page catalogs (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Typography
    • Color theory
    • Layout design
    • Brand development
  • Ability to create and modify vector illustrations in Adobe Illustrator.
  • Experience working with Pantone color systems.
  • Strong technical ability to create factory-ready spec sheets.
  • Excellent organization and file management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Adaptable, solution-oriented, and detail-driven
  • Proactively identifies and addresses needs with minimal supervision.
  • Receives constructive criticism with professionalism and applies it to continuously improve.

This is an on-site position and requires regular in-office attendance.
