About This Position
Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support our Diagnostic Imaging Department. This role works closely with the diagnostic imaging team and a board-certified veterinary radiologist to assist with advanced imaging procedures and help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.
This position will be primarily assigned to the Diagnostic Imaging Department and will support radiography, ultrasound, and CT procedures. This position plays a critical role in maintaining patient safety, providing appropriate restraint, and supporting the workflow necessary to deliver exceptional diagnostic imaging services.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Assist with patient restraint for diagnostic imaging procedures, including radiographs, ultrasound, and CT scans
- Support the imaging team and radiologist during ultrasound procedures by positioning and holding patients as needed
- Assist with CT procedures, including patient preparation, positioning, and monitoring under supervision
- Assist in obtaining diagnostic radiographs, including proper patient positioning and equipment setup
- Safely transport patients between departments as needed
- Maintain a calm, controlled environment to support patient safety and comfort
- Prepare imaging suites and ensure equipment is ready for use
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of imaging areas
- Collaborate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and hospital staff to support patient care
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support hospital operations
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Prior experience in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting preferred
- Ability to safely lift, move, and restrain patients of varying sizes
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced specialty and emergency environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain patient safety standards
- Interest in diagnostic imaging and advanced veterinary medicine is a plus
