HELPER PROCESSOR (PRP DIVISION)

Assist in the Processing operation.

Basic Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various grinding and buffing machines to remove surface defects and/or prepare the surface of materials for further processing.
• Perform and maintain records of processing operations.
• Assist in rolling operations.
• Perform final product inspection.
• Set-up and operate various cut-off equipment.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Perform lower-level duties when necessary.

Direction Exercised

• Direct efforts of Utility workers as necessary.

Tools and Equipment

• Abrasive belt (bumper) grinder, multi-head belt grinder, swing frame grinders, buffing machines, grit blasting machine, lift truck, electric side loading truck, floor-controlled crane hoists, hydraulic lift buggy and pull cart, weighing scales, rockwell hardness tester, banding tools, abrasive cut-off saws, shear knife machines, and various hand tools.

Experience

• Experience in processing department of steel-related industry.

Education/Training

• Knowledge of operation of all processing equipment.
