Overview
Process Engineer II is the technical owner of a production system, responsible for delivering year-over-year improvements
in OEE, safety, quality, reliability, and cost. This role leads loss elimination initiatives, coaches operators and technicians,
and drives TPM pillar activities to build a high-performance organization.
Process Engineer II provides technical leadership in resolving complex operational and equipment-related performance
challenges to improve cost competitiveness and manufacturing reliability.
Responsibilities
• Own the performance of a production line or system, including uptime, waste, throughput, and quality
• Lead Daily Management System (DMS) routines and coach others in effective use
• Maintain and improve standards, centerlines, and process control strategies
• Lead process capability studies and implement control plan
• Lead chronic loss elimination using TPM tools (AM, PM, FI, QA, E&T pillars)
• Manage improvement projects from concept through execution
• Partner with maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime
• Use data analytics to identify trends and drive systemic improvements
• Train and certify operators on new standards, troubleshooting, and centerline management
• Coach Process Engineer I and technicians in problem solving and TPM methodology
• Lead Autonomous Maintenance Step progression for your system
• Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and new technology integration
• Lead safety risk assessments, MOCs, and incident investigations
• Own quality systems for your area, including audits, corrective actions, and process controls
• Analyze utilities performance (refrigeration, compressed air, water, steam, electrical systems) and identify
opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
• Support initiatives that lower energy intensity and resource consumption per unit produced.
• Act as the process performance lead, driving structured resolution of complex operational and equipment-related
performance issues.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, environmental, and corporate standards
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
• 3-10 years of experience as a process engineer or in a related field or 7-10 years of hands-on manufacturing
experience implementing process improvement projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated success leading improvement initiatives.
• Strong understanding of reliability, process control, and root-cause problem solving.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards and quality control procedures.
• Must have advanced working knowledge in food production processing, packaging equipment, utilities.
• Must have project management skills, be detailed oriented, and be able to prioritize and manage multiple
simultaneous projects.
• Must have sound planning and organization skills.
• Knowledge of standard MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
• Experience with TPM - EAM, PM & AM is preferred.
