Facility Maintenance Technician (The Fixer & Keeper) at FIRST COAST CONTRACT MAINTENANCE SERVICES LLC – St. Augustine, Florida

So, what is this job? You are the backbone of the operation. Reporting to our Maintenance and Facilities Manager, we are looking for a hands-on, hard-working individual to keep our Amenity Centers looking pristine and running smoothly.

You are the person who ensures the pool is sparkling, the grounds are clean, and everything is in working order. If you hate sitting behind a desk and love seeing the immediate results of your hard work, this is the job for you.

Let’s Have Some "Real Talk" (The Nitty Gritty): We value transparency. Here is what you need to know before you apply:

-It’s Florida, and it’s Hot: You will be working outside in the sun and humidity. You will sweat. You need to be someone who can handle the heat without slowing down.

-This is a Physical Job: You won’t be sitting down. You will be on your feet, walking long distances around the facilities, bending, and moving all day. You must be able to safely lift 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds.

-The Essential Work: Heavy lifting, trash cleaning, pool scrubbing, and fixing broken items around the facility are essential. It takes grit to keep the facility running.

-You Are Mobile: You won’t be stuck at one building. You’ll be traveling between different amenity locations within the community to make sure standards are met everywhere.

-Independent Professionalism: You must demonstrate the ability to work independently and present yourself in a professional, clean manner that is consistent with the hospitality industry.

-The "Mover": You can’t stand sitting still. You like to be on the move, staying active, and getting your steps in.

-The "Fixer": You are comfortable with basic tools. If something looks loose, you tighten it. If something looks broken, you assess it.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing:

-Pool Care: Testing onsite swimming pools (we will train on our specific systems), skimming, vacuuming, brushing, and checking chemicals to ensure crystal-clear water.

-Work Order Management: Safely and quickly completing work orders for maintenance items in a timely manner.

-General Grounds Maintenance: Pressure washing, blowing off decks, picking up debris, and patrolling grounds for litter and trash.

-Janitorial & Custodial Duties: Emptying trash receptacles daily and performing general cleaning to keep the facility sanitary.

-Event Support: Assisting the Lifestyle Team with setting up for and cleaning after community events.

-Moving Between Sites: Driving to different locations within the community to perform checks and tasks.

The Schedule: Facilities don't take days off, and neither do we during peak times.

-Schedule: Shifts may vary in length (longer or shorter than 8 hours) depending on workload and business needs.

-Weekends: Required as needed.

-Holidays: Required (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day).

The Must-Haves:

-Experience: 2+ Years of Property Maintenance (Required).

-Pool Experience: Previous experience cleaning pools is highly preferred.

-CPO Certification: Must be a Certified Pool Operator (CPO) OR be willing to complete the certification course within your first 90 days.

-Valid Driver’s License & Reliable Transportation: You must be able to legally drive between our locations.

-Ability to Commute: St. Augustine (St. Johns County) 32092 is REQUIRED.

-Physical Stamina: Ability to safely lift 50 lbs (occasionally 75 lbs) and stand/walk for the duration of the shift.

-Tool Savvy: Knowledge of how to use basic hand tools.

-Clear Background Check: Must pass a pre-employment background check.
