Maintenance Mechanic at Metal Solutions LLC DBA Jemison Metals – Madison Heights, Virginia

The Maintenance job family includes Helper, Mechanic, Technician, and Senior Technician levels based on knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience. We are currently looking for someone with electrical and mechanical experience! Pay will depend on qualifications and experience.

Maintenance workers respond to work orders and use knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, hydraulics, industrial machinery, tooling, and pneumatic and electrical controls to troubleshoot and maintain plant equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose equipment issues by observing machinery, using test equipment, and gathering input from operators
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics to determine repair methods
• Repair or replace defective or worn parts and reassemble equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance, including inspection, lubrication, calibration, cleaning, and part replacement
• Maintain and repair production equipment, control systems, motors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and facility components
• Support major repairs and installations and coordinate with outside repair services when needed
• Operate equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes
• Maintain documentation of maintenance and preventive maintenance activities
• Perform general facility maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural work
• Follow all safety procedures and contribute to a clean, safe working environment

Work Environment and Requirements:

• Industrial setting with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and overhead loads
• Extended standing, walking, and physical activity
• Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and up to 90 pounds with assistance
• Use of required personal protective equipment
• Shift work, overtime, and weekend work as needed
