This is a training position that includes a combination of a formal CNA course as well as on the job training to prepare employees for a CNA position.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

The Oncology unit specializes in the care of acutely ill adults and of those who require Cancer treatment and care. Oncology patients are given the highest standards of professional care by registered nurses and nurse assistants. Specialty certification in Oncology is strongly encouraged and supported. Telemetry monitoring is available for the patients requiring stable cardiac monitoring.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Healthcare Provider Level BLS required within 90 days of hire.

Experience and/or training in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and electronic medical records preferred.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Time Management: Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and to follow-up on pending issues. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and thrive in dynamic fast-paced environments and under pressure.

Social Perceptiveness: Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers. Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages.
