ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the building, equipment, and grounds of the facility.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the building, utilizing custodial tools and cleaning products, according to schedule.
- Acquire knowledge of cleaning chemicals their uses and hazards. Understand SDS.
- Understand the proper operations of auto scrubbers and other custodial tools.
- Understand building activities and Facilities support of these functions.
- Assist in preparations for special events and programs.
- May be asked to receive deliveries.
- May be assigned to off-site properties in support of the organization’s mission.
- Repair and maintain equipment as needed based on skillset
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Friendly positive attitude and some customer service skills.
- Temperament and tolerance for a job that seems never done.
- Attention to detail to ensure cleanliness of building.
- Ability to work alone or with others in support of the team.
KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- High school graduate or GED equivalency preferred.
- Additional education in technical or vocational school would be beneficial.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning supplies, tools, machines, and equipment.
EXPERIENCE:
- Prior employment as a custodian, janitor, or maintenance person is desired.
WORK SCEHDULE:
- Full time with benefits at 40 hours per week
- Variable as assigned. May include days, nights and weekends.
