ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for the cleanliness of the building, equipment, and grounds of the facility.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the building, utilizing custodial tools and cleaning products, according to schedule.
• Acquire knowledge of cleaning chemicals their uses and hazards. Understand SDS.
• Understand the proper operations of auto scrubbers and other custodial tools.
• Understand building activities and Facilities support of these functions.
• Assist in preparations for special events and programs.
• May be asked to receive deliveries.
• May be assigned to off-site properties in support of the organization’s mission.
• Repair and maintain equipment as needed based on skillset

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

• Friendly positive attitude and some customer service skills.
• Temperament and tolerance for a job that seems never done.
• Attention to detail to ensure cleanliness of building.
• Ability to work alone or with others in support of the team.

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• High school graduate or GED equivalency preferred.
• Additional education in technical or vocational school would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of industrial cleaning supplies, tools, machines, and equipment.

EXPERIENCE:

• Prior employment as a custodian, janitor, or maintenance person is desired.

WORK SCEHDULE:

• Full time with benefits at 40 hours per week
• Variable as assigned. May include days, nights and weekends.
