Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Evaluate Nutritional Claims.
  • Develop, update, and maintain ingredient/nutritional information in Genesis software program.
  • Accurately maintain files for the school lunch programs.
  • Respond timely to ingredient declarations and nutrition panels requests.
  • Assist the supervision of Organic and Non-GMO compliance as a backup.
  • Assist Compliance, Purchasing, and Production in product packaging setup validation.
  • Work with Compliance Customer Affairs advocate on new product information form.
  • Work with the test kitchen on new products.
  • Maintain ingredient declaration.
  • Maintain Bartender labeling software.
  • Review all ingredient components for food safety and compliance purposes.
  • Support the Customer Affairs Advocate and act as backup, as applicable.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and senior leadership.
  • Regularly engage with cross-functional staff to ensure critical alignment across the organization.
  • Uphold and integrate the Company’s Core Values.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree is food science or quality systems preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • HACCP Certification.
  • SQF Practitioner with background in compliance, preferred.
  • Preferred AIB Course Completion; correspondence and labeling course.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory guidelines for labeling.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Work, PowerPoint. Intermediate Excel skills include but are not limited to the ability to build and utilize pivot tables.
  • Experience navigating Windows operating systems, managing files, and basic troubleshooting of common office equipment.

Critical Skills and Expertise

  • High attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates strong comprehension skills and cultural competency when interacting with a wide variety of internal and external customers.
  • Navigate multiple customer web-based compliance applications including risk assessments during new software rollouts.
  • Interpret technical instrumentation – including gauges, scales, and thermometers – to identify product specifications and quality standards.
  • Exercise independent judgement to resolve operational issues while leveraging documented procedures and/or instructions for successful task execution.
  • Perform foundational calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) to ensure precision in data.
  • Skilled in moving safely and efficiently within multi-level plants to reach job assignments and perform tasks required in the production process. Tasks require frequent stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking and hearing.
  • Ability to perform work in high-heat process environments (exceeding 100 degrees and high-decibel areas requiring vocal projection).
  • Capable of working in environment of flour dust.
