In 2018, The company introduced a new line of business, Car Care Express, offering mobile vehicle reconditioning services for businesses and consumers. Services include: paintless dent repair; paint touch up; headlight restoration; and repairs to wheels, windshields, and interiors.
Position Summary:
The Auto Body Paint & Repair Technician will be responsible for repairing and painting automotive cosmetic damage in both solvent and water-based base-coat/clear-coat systems. They will also be responsible for painting surfaces of wheels through spray-painting equipment, power tools and work aids utilizing specific surface preparation and painting techniques. Our Paint/ Wheel Technicians receive all the tools and supplies needed for the job. This person will also be responsible for developing and maintaining a weekly sales route in their territory to maximize profits. You will be responsible for managing inventory, audits, and accurate logs of sales stops.
Duties Critical to Success:
Maintain business relationships to increase our clients’ profits
Maintain excellent customer relationships to ensure longevity of accounts/business
Drive our company van to dealerships and fleet operations in your metro area
Walk and write up car lots for customer approval
Inspect vehicle body surface and wheels to be painted for repair, prepping and/or buffing defects
Mix specific colors using standard formulas or color charts
Perform paint repairs and refinishing to current company standards using spray-painting equipment, power tools and work aids utilizing specific surface preparation and painting techniques
Sand, mask, blend and polish finish. Apply or retouch paint as necessary
Work with accounts/or sales managers on a regular basis to increase quality of service to account
Service retail customers when necessary
This role will report to assigned routes and establish accounts daily to service all repairs in a timely manner
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 1-2 years of automotive paint experience with wheel repair experience being a bonus
High School Diploma or equivalent
21 years of age with a valid Driver’s license
Vision abilities required include close, distance and color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
Sales and customer service experience
Determination to succeed
Professional demeanor and appearance
General computer skills
Some experience with route sales preferred
Work in all elements of weather
Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, and demonstrated ability to work independently
Regularly required to stand and walk. Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, climb and perform repetitive motion tasks
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (tools, dyes, paints, wheels, etc.)
