POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of operations across the division. This role oversees Regional Operations Managers and ensures safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of fuel and propane products to residential, commercial, and agricultural customers.

The Operations Manager plays a key leadership role in driving operational excellence, optimizing pricing and margin performance, and executing strategic growth initiatives in partnership with senior leadership. This position will also be responsible for:

OPERATIONAL LEADERSHIP

1. Lead and develop a team of Regional Operations Managers across multiple locations
2. Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient daily operations across fuel and propane distribution
3. Standardize best practices across locations (delivery, service, safety, maintenance)
4. Monitor KPIs including delivery efficiency, cost per gallon, fleet utilization, and service levels
5. Drive continuous improvement in routing, dispatch, and customer fulfillment

PRICING & MARGIN MANAGEMENT

1. Partner leadership to manage margin targets and profitability
2. Implement pricing models (e.g., replacement cost, indexed pricing, contract pricing)
3. Analyze margin performance and recommend adjustments to maximize returns

LOGISTICS & SUPPLY CHAIN

1. Oversee logistics planning including routing, scheduling, and asset utilization
2. Coordinate supply across bulk plants
3. Optimize inventory levels and product movement to minimize cost and risk
4. Support hedging and inventory strategies in coordination with leadership
5. Ensure reliable supply during peak demand and emergency situations

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP & GROWTH

1. Collaborate with senior leadership on division strategy and growth
2. Lead integration of new businesses, customers, and assets
3. Identify opportunities to expand services
4. Support sales teams with operational alignment
5. Drive initiatives that improve scalability and long-term profitability

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE

1. Ensure high service levels and responsiveness across all customer segments
2. Resolve escalated operational or service issues
3. Partner with sales to strengthen key customer relationships

QUALIFICATIONS

1. 7–10+ years of experience in fuel, propane, logistics, or related distribution business
2. 3–5+ years in a leadership role managing multi-site operations
3. Strong understanding of fuel pricing, supply dynamics, and margin management
4. Experience with routing, dispatch, and fleet operations
5. Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance across multiple locations
6. Financial acumen with ability to analyze P&L, cost structures, and KPIs
7. Strong communication and leadership skills
