The Blake School seeks to hire an Extended Day program lead for our Lower School campus in Hopkins for the 2026–27 school year. The Extended Day program lead teaching assistant will provide logistical and supervisory leadership across the after-school Extended Day program. This position supports lunch, recess and coverage duties at Blake’s Early Learning Center and reports to the Lower School operations coordinator and collaborates with the director of enrichment programs.

Experience and Skills:
- Ability and desire to work with children, parents and colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences

- Demonstrated ability to coordinate and support a team, including assigning responsibilities to staff and following up to ensure student supervision and program needs are consistently met
- Knowledge of children's social, emotional and cognitive developmental stages

- Active listener who honors children's thoughts, feelings and ideas
Responsibilities:
- Create and implement a variety of projects, community-building activities and enrichment for students in the Extended Day program
- Track student attendance, including monitoring and responding to drop-in requests, overseeing check-in and check-out for student programs
- Prepare and maintain billing documents
- Communicate effectively with the Extended Day team, school personnel and the Lower School operations coordinator to coordinate program needs
- Foster a collaborative, creative group experience while recognizing and supporting individual growth
- Participate in professional development opportunities offered by Blake
- Provide supervision for lunch, recess and staff breaks at the Early Learning Center as scheduled by building administrators (10:30am-2pm)
- Perform day-to-day duties that support after-school activities and student supervision, including Extended Day (2-6pm)
- Assist in planning, staffing and supervising childcare when offered on campus
Hours, Pay and Benefits
- Starting at $23/hour, may increase according to years of relevant professional experience
- 35 hrs/wk (10:30am-6pm) during school year

- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 2 years experience with PK-5 students
- Additional required trainings/conditions of employment include:
- DHS background study
- Yearly health and safety training
- Yearly child development course(s)
- CPR certification
- Presentation of transcripts
