This is a high-impact technical leadership role at the core of a global conversational AI platform, where you will shape the architecture and evolution of a large-scale system powering intelligent customer experiences. You will work across teams and domains to define technical strategy, establish engineering standards, and guide the development of resilient, scalable, and high-performance systems. The role blends deep hands-on engineering expertise with organizational influence, requiring strong system design skills and the ability to drive alignment across multiple stakeholders. You will also play a key role in introducing and scaling AI capabilities across the platform, ensuring governance, observability, and reliability at enterprise level. Operating in a distributed and fast-paced environment, you will influence both technical direction and business outcomes. This is a role for a senior technical leader who thrives on solving complex distributed systems challenges and shaping engineering culture at scale.
You will be responsible for defining technical direction, leading architectural decisions, and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of a large distributed platform.
- Drive the technical vision and architecture across multiple teams and departments
- Define and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and system design principles at scale
- Lead architectural decisions impacting distributed systems and cross-functional initiatives
- Identify and resolve systemic technical debt affecting multiple areas of the platform
- Develop and maintain governance frameworks, including RFC and ADR processes
- Lead proof-of-concept initiatives to evaluate emerging technologies and architectural approaches
- Improve system performance, scalability, observability, and operational resilience
- Mentor Staff Engineers and technical leaders, supporting their growth and decision-making
- Participate in incident response and define strategies for system reliability and prevention
- Promote collaboration across engineering, product, and business stakeholders
- Contribute to hiring strategies, technical evaluation standards, and organizational engineering practices
- Optionally act as Tech Lead for strategic squads or initiatives when needed
You are a highly experienced software engineering leader with deep expertise in large-scale distributed systems and a proven ability to influence technical strategy across organizations.
- 8+ years of experience in Software Engineering, including 2+ years in Staff or leadership roles
- Strong experience with C# or equivalent backend technologies
- Solid background in distributed systems architecture and large-scale platforms
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Expertise in Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and software delivery automation
- Experience with observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, APM solutions)
- Strong understanding of software design principles (SOLID, Clean Code, DRY, Twelve-Factor)
- Experience leading architecture governance, RFC/ADR processes, and technical standards
- Proven ability to mentor senior engineers and influence cross-team decisions
- Strong communication skills with executive and technical stakeholders
- Experience driving technical strategy aligned with business objectives
- Proficiency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken)
- Ability to thrive in a remote, distributed engineering organization
