We are currently seeking an individual to join our hard-working, dedicated team as an Electrical Designer Part-Time (with option to Full Time):

The Virtual Design Employee – Prefabrication supports Hayden Power Group’s electrical construction projects by assisting with virtual design tasks that feed directly into our Pre-Fab operations. This role ensures accuracy, constructability, and efficiency for the Prefab Department, enabling streamlined fabrication followed by successful field installation. Collaborate with a dynamic group of professionals to develop efficient and sustainable solutions, contributing to exciting projects across various industries.

Duties and Responsibilities Essential to the Job – including the following and any other duties that may be assigned as needed:

· Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure electrical designs align with project specifications.

· Conduct site visits to gather data and verify existing conditions for design accuracy.

· Coordinate with project teams to integrate electrical designs with other building systems.

· Perform quantity take-offs and cross-check against estimating scope.

· Develop and create detailed electrical design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit software.

· Prepare and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout plans.

· Generate a Bill of Material for Prefab assemblies.

· Assist in preparing project documentation and technical reports.

· Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

· Perform quality checks and revise designs based on feedback and changes.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and advancements in electrical design software.

· Provide technical support and guidance to junior designers and team members.

· Participate in project meetings and contribute to design discussions and decision-making.

· Manage and organize project files and design documentation for easy access and reference.

Educational/Work Experience/Certifications

· Associate or bachelor’s in engineering

· OSHA 10-hour certification, preferred.

· Background in electrical construction preferred.

· Proven computer skills, especially Microsoft Office.

· Excellent interpersonal and customer relations abilities.

Skills/Abilities

· Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software.

· Minimum of 4 years' experience in electrical design.

· Understanding of electrical systems and schematics.

· Ability to create detailed electrical drawings and layouts.

· Experience in designing electrical systems for residential, commercial, or industrial projects.

· Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations.

· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.

· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is preferred.

· Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

· Familiarity with industry standards and best practices.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

Working Conditions

· Must have a current, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

· Wear personal protective equipment when required (hard hat, safety vest and glasses at all times).

· Office position; daily computer use.

· This job is a safety sensitive position.

Special Requirements

· Ability to travel to job sites or pre-bid and bid meetings, locally, in-state, and out-of-state as business requires.

· Background checks, screenings, and physicals.

· Understands, follows, and enforces all established safety, health, quality and Company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.

· Maintain work area to acceptable safety and housekeeping standards.

· Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
