About This Position
Background check and US Citizenship are requirements of this position. This is not a remote position. Candidate will report to the Chesapeake, VA office.
Oversee the company's accounting and financial compliance functions with primary responsibility for government contract accounting, reporting and audit readiness. This role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and is ideal for someone wo is comfortable operating in both the tactical and strategic levels.
Requirements:Manage all accounting operations, include GL, AR/AP, payroll coordination, and cash management.
Ensure compliance with FAR/DFAR/CAS
Prepare and review monthly financial statements and project analysis
Oversee indirect rates, cost pools, and invoicing compliance
Lead DCAA/DCMA audits and support external financial audits
Maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
Support contract pricing, proposals, and rate development
Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and growth planning
Supervise and develop accounting staff
Ability to work independently while collaborating across departments
Education/Certification Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
10 plus years of accounting experience, including hands-on experience with US government contracts.
Strong working knowledge of FAR, DCAA compliance, and indirect rate management
Experience with Unanet or similar accounting system focused on US government contracting
Strong Excel, Word & PowerPoint
