About This Position

ENGINEER – LARGE VESSEL

Location: Coastal Maine

Rotation: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

The Role: New DHC is seeking an experienced Marine Engineer to support the safe, reliable operation of propulsion, auxiliary, and mechanical systems aboard large vessels operating along the coast of Maine. This role is suited to a hands-on professional who values machinery reliability, preventative maintenance, and operational consistency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain main propulsion and auxiliary machinery
  • Conduct routine machinery rounds and inspections
  • Monitor temperatures, pressures, and fluid levels during operations
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance in accordance with company maintenance programs
  • Maintain accurate engineering and maintenance records
  • Ensure machinery spaces are safe, clean, and operational
  • Communicate machinery status, limitations, and maintenance needs to the Captain
  • Maintain engineering tools, spare parts, and consumables onboard

Qualifications

  • Chief Engineer license OR Designated Duty Engineer (DDE 4,000 HP)
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a comparable marine engineering role
  • Valid USCG medical certificate
  • Valid TWIC
  • Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally

VESSEL CREW - ENGINEER

New DHC is currently recruiting for an Engineer to join the Company’s vessel fleet. This position is located off the coast of Maine.

The Role:

This position is responsible for the operation and servicing of main propulsion and auxiliary machinery, following company policies and procedures; maintaining the deck and radio log books; maintenance of temperatures, pressures, and proper oil/water levels in engine room; ensuring that adequate stores and supplies are available while maintaining relevant inventories; and ensuring equipment is properly inspected, tested and certified, in accordance with the vessel’s planned maintenance program and applicable regulations and records are kept.
