Job Title: Produce Lead
Reports To: Produce Manager, Store Manager

Job Summary:
The Produce Lead supports the daily execution and presentation standards of the Produce Department at The Golden Hog. This hands-on role is responsible for maintaining product freshness, proper FIFO rotation, clean and fully stocked displays, department organization, and excellent customer service throughout the day.
The Produce Lead guide daily priorities, identifies operational needs, supports team follow-through, and ensures consistent execution aligned with company standards, Golden Moments, and overall department performance .
Requirements:Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily execution of Produce Department standards, including stocking, FIFO rotation, cleanliness, and presentation.
- Ensure the department remains fully stocked, organized, and visually appealing at all times.
- Inspect product quality, freshness, pricing, and signage; take immediate corrective action when needed.
- Guide and support team members on daily priorities to ensure consistent follow-through and execution.
- Monitor inventory levels, identify shrink risks, and communicate replenishment needs.
- Support receiving, unloading, and proper handling/storage of produce deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across sales floor, coolers, and backroom areas.
- Remove damaged, spoiled, or expired product promptly following company procedures.
- Assist customers with product selection, questions, and service needs.
- Support promotional displays and ensure pricing and signage accuracy.
- Identify and escalate operational, safety, or inventory issues proactively.
- Follow and reinforce food safety, sanitation, and company standards at all times.
- Support opening, mid-day, and closing execution standards as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in grocery, retail, produce, or food retail environments.
- Prior experience supporting team execution (lead, trainer, or similar role) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of stocking, FIFO rotation, product quality, and freshness standards.
- High attention to detail, sense of urgency, and ability to maintain standards independently.
- Ability to support and guide team members while ensuring daily execution.
- Ability to lift/move product up to 50 lbs. and work in refrigerated or wet environments.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not mandatory.
Schedule:
Your standard work schedule will be five days per week, with two days off scheduled based on operational needs. Flexibility is required, as you may occasionally be asked to work on holidays or additional days to support special events.
