JOB TITLE: Physician Assistant
SUMMARY: The Physician Assistant will provide comprehensive medical care in both clinical and surgical settings, primarily focused on orthopaedic and spine services. Responsibilities include conducting thorough patient assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
The role involves assisting in surgical procedures, managing patient follow-ups, and educating patients and their families about treatment options. The Physician Assistant plays a crucial role in enhancing patient care and supporting the overall workflow of the clinical practice.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations in the clinical setting.
Assist in surgical procedures in the operating room, working closely with the surgical team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Develop and implement patient care plans, monitor progress, and make necessary adjustments to treatment protocols.
Work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes and promote a supportive work environment.
Educate patients and their families about their conditions and treatment options, serving as an advocate for their health and well-being.
QUALIFICATIONS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Valid New Jersey Physician Assistant license/registry (required)
Proficiency and understanding of orthopaedic and spine care, with experience in both clinical and surgical environments.
Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced, diverse environment.
This role requires both clinical and surgical duties, involving a mix of standing, walking, and occasional lifting to assist patients as needed. While working in the clinical setting, the Nurse Practitioner, RNFA will frequently move between exam rooms, maintain patient records, and operation various medical instruments. In the operating room, the role demands prolonged standing, focus, and dexterity to assist the lead surgeon accurately during operative procedures.
The work environment is fast-paced and team-oriented, with a strong emphasis on maintaining a sterile, safe, and efficient space for high- quality patient care. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required in the OR and other relevant settings.
