Position Overview:
The Director of Construction will lead the execution of large-scale, mission-critical data center campus developments across the Austin, TX region. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction delivery, including site development, core and shell, and critical infrastructure systems (electrical and mechanical), ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience managing hyperscale or large-scale data center construction projects and has a strong understanding of mission-critical systems, construction sequencing, contractor management, and program execution at scale. This individual will partner closely with internal engineering, development, and operations teams while leading general contractors and trade partners across multiple concurrent builds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead regional team end-to-end construction execution of hyperscale data center campuses from site development through commissioning and turnover
- Manage general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and budget
- Onboard new Vendors and establish a pipeline of resources for your region.
- Oversee construction of mission-critical systems including MV/LV distribution, generators, UPS systems, and mechanical cooling infrastructure
- Drive project scheduling, sequencing, and phasing across multi-building campus environments
- Enforce safety standards and promote a strong safety culture across all active job sites
- Partner with internal engineering and design teams to ensure constructability and alignment with Fleet standards
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls while identifying and mitigating risks
- Lead site meetings, reporting cadence, and executive-level updates on project progress
- Manage permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance within local jurisdictions
- Oversee commissioning efforts to ensure systems meet performance and reliability requirements
- Resolve field issues, design conflicts, and schedule impacts in real time
- Support procurement strategy and contract negotiations with key vendors and contractors
- Build and lead high-performing construction teams across multiple projects
- Establish and maintain construction standards, processes, and best practices
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- 10+ years of construction experience with at least 5+ years leading large-scale or mission-critical projects
- Proven experience delivering data center, industrial, or large infrastructure construction projects
- Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems within mission-critical environments
- Experience managing large budgets and complex construction schedules
- Demonstrated ability to lead contractors and cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills with ability to interface with executives and external partners
- Strong stakeholder management across engineering, development, and operations teams
- Ability to analyze project performance, track KPIs, and drive improvements
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with hyperscale data center developers, operators, or general contractors
- Familiarity with cloud provider infrastructure requirements (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience delivering large-scale campus environments (100MW+ projects)
- Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or PE
- Experience operating in fast-growth or multi-site environments
· Self-directed leader with a track record of scaling construction operations and processes.
· Executive presence with strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in active construction environments and office settings
- Travel required up to 50-75% across project sites
Expected Salary Range: $190,000 - $225,000 Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus
Travel and Schedule:
This role requires regular travel and onsite presence at project sites around Austin and San Antonio metro areas in Texas.
