This role sits at the heart of a fast-paced global news production environment, where you will help transform raw video footage into compelling, accurate, and high-impact visual stories. Working remotely, you will collaborate with international journalists, editors, and producers across multiple formats to deliver timely news content for global audiences. The position demands strong editorial judgment, creativity, and the ability to work under pressure in breaking news situations. You will play a key role in shaping stories that reach millions of viewers across digital and broadcast platforms. With a focus on speed, accuracy, and visual storytelling, this role is ideal for someone passionate about global news and impactful journalism in a 24/7 newsroom ecosystem.

Accountabilities:
  • Edit and assemble video story elements into clear, engaging visual narratives tailored for digital and broadcast audiences.
  • Apply strong editorial judgment to select and prioritize content under tight deadlines, especially during breaking news coverage.
  • Write accurate and concise storylines, captions, and shot lists aligned with visual content.
  • Monitor live feeds and rapidly edit breaking news footage for immediate publication.
  • Use social media and digital sources as tools for newsgathering and story development.
  • Support verification efforts by applying visual verification techniques and ensuring content accuracy and integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with global journalists and production teams across text, photo, video, and digital formats.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in journalism, media, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a newsroom, digital media outlet, broadcast station, or similar environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in non-linear video editing tools such as DaVinci Resolve or similar software.
  • Strong written and spoken English with the ability to write clearly for visual storytelling.
  • Solid news judgment and understanding of global news dynamics.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet strict deadlines in breaking news situations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills in a multicultural, multi-format newsroom environment.
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends as part of a 24/7 global news operation.
  • Familiarity with additional languages is a plus.
