Finance Manager - Opex and Capex at Megaport – Brisbane, California

Based in the Brisbane HQ reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role will be a key finance leader responsible for delivery of accurate and timely financial results in relation to operating and capital expenditure, implementation of efficient and consistent global accounting procedures and being a trusted finance business partner for the business. This role will require hands-on finance input in addition to management of team members based in Brisbane and working with extended finance team members overseas. The ideal candidate has SaaS experience, is highly analytical and thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Senior Leader, developing a high-performing team across operating and capital expenditure, payroll, and travel.

• Duties may span other areas of the accounting and finance business.

• Ensure strong financial governance, robust controls, and compliance with Group policies and accounting standards.

• Provide expert advice on expenditure treatment, capitalisation, and payroll compliance.
  Oversee accurate and timely accounting and reporting of all operating and capital expenditures.

• Own financial outcomes for relevant P&L and balance sheet lines.
  Partner across the business to support decision-making and ensure financial outcomes reflect business activity.

• Identify and implement process, system, and workflow improvements across both the function, and the broader finance team.

• Assist preparation for internal and external audits related to operating expenditure, capital expenditure, payroll, and travel.

• Contribute to financial planning, budgeting, and long-term forecasting.

• CPA, CMA, CA or equivalent essential

• 3+ years in a Finance leadership role, experience managing dispersed teams is desirable.

• Proven record with business partnering to improve finance processes across all business units

• Excellent understanding of finances within the technology space

• Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities

• Excellent attention to detail

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
