Registered Nurse Cath Lab - Temporary Assignment at CaroMont Health – Gastonia, North Carolina

Job Summary: To perform diversified duties in the Cardiac Cath Lab and Hybrid OR, assisting the cardiologist intra-procedurally including preparation and positioning of patients, operation of x-ray equipment in radiological and fluoroscopic procedures, scrubbing, circulating, monitoring, and recording hemodynamic parameters according to policy. Must successfully complete corporate and department specific skill validations and maintain core competencies.

Core Competencies: The RN will be competent to monitor and circulate diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, intermediate and complex interventional cardiac procedures, STEMI, diagnostic and interventional arteriograms, and PE. Responsibilities also include STEMI on-call Team coverage and precepting new or existing employees.

Qualifications: Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with staff, patients, physicians, ancillary professionals, and families to achieve positive outcomes. Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license) required. BLS/ACLS certification required. One year nursing experience with a Cath Lab is required. One year of traveler experience preferred. Experience in an EP Lab, special procedure settings, or critical care preferred. Cannot be a Full Time or Part Time CaroMont employee.
