About This Position

Why this role exists

We have clear operational opportunities where AI can drastically reduce cycle time and eliminate repetitive work:

  • Faster, more consistent client artwork proofs

  • AI‑assisted color separations for straightforward screen‑printing jobs

  • Scalable design generation for client selection

  • Smarter, faster sales prospecting and targeting

At the same time, we need strong ownership of core IT systems so the business runs smoothly without constant friction.

This role combines both—build automation where it matters most and keep the underlying tech healthy.

What you’ll build (real projects, not hypotheticals)

You will be expected to directly build and deploy tools such as:

1) Proof Automation (“Proof Factory”)

  • Automate creation of client‑ready artwork proofs

  • Enforce layout, branding, and production rules

  • Reduce revision cycles and manual designer labor

  • Improve handoff from sales → graphics → production

2) AI‑Assisted Color Separations (starting simple)

  • Build a pipeline for basic / straightforward separations

  • Automatically route complex art to human review

  • Include QA checks so production receives reliable output

  • Measure throughput, accuracy, and exception rates

3) Design Generation for Client Selection

  • Generate curated design sets clients can choose from

  • Apply guardrails for brand standards and trademark risk

  • Output production‑ready vector formats where possible

4) Sales Prospecting Acceleration

  • Build tools that help reps identify and prioritize accounts

  • Automate research summaries and targeting insights

  • Reduce time to first draft for outbound outreach

5) Core IT Ownership

  • Microsoft 365 administration (accounts, access, permissions)

  • Device and user lifecycle (onboarding/offboarding)

  • Security basics (MFA, backups, access controls)

  • Coordinate with outside IT support when needed

What success looks like (first 90 days)

By day 90, you will have delivered:

  • A live proof automation MVP used by the graphics team

  • A working AI‑assisted separations workflow for simple jobs

  • A sales prospecting tool that measurably saves reps time

  • A prioritized list of IT improvements already underway or completed

You will be judged on working tools, adoption, and measurable impact—not slide decks.

Responsibilities

AI Automation (build & deploy)

  • Identify high‑ROI automation opportunities

  • Define scope, inputs, outputs, QA, and exceptions

  • Personally build and deploy solutions

  • Maintain and improve tools in real‑world use

Production & Graphics Enablement

  • Improve proof and separation throughput

  • Reduce manual workflow bottlenecks

  • Add visibility and tracking where it doesn’t exist today

Sales Enablement

  • Accelerate prospecting and targeting

  • Improve consistency and quality of outbound prep

IT & Systems Ownership

  • Own day‑to‑day IT operations

  • Maintain stable, secure systems

  • Reduce tech friction across the company

Required skills (non‑negotiable)

  • Strong hands‑on builder experience—shipping internal tools people actually use

  • Proficiency with automation, scripting, APIs, or lightweight application development

  • Ability to turn messy workflows into defined, reliable systems

  • Solid IT fundamentals (Microsoft 365, access control, troubleshooting)

Nice‑to‑have (highly valuable)

  • Experience with screen printing, prepress, or production graphics workflows

  • Familiarity with vector/raster design pipelines

  • Experience integrating AI into operational processes (not just prompting)

Traits that will win here

  • You ship and iterate quickly

  • You think in measurable outcomes

  • You communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical teams

  • You’re comfortable owning problems end‑to‑end

Interview / skills test

Time‑boxed practical exercise: Choose one:

  • Proof automation

  • Basic color separations assist

  • Sales prospecting acceleration

You’ll be asked to provide:

  • A simple architecture outline

  • QA and exception handling plan

  • Metrics you would use to define success

Important clarifiers (read carefully)

  • This is a hands‑on build role. You will personally design, code, deploy, and support the tools.

  • If you prefer managing vendors over building, this won’t be a fit.

Why this is a unique opportunity

This role sits at the intersection of AI, production, and sales, with direct authority to implement change.

If you want to build real systems, see immediate impact, and shape how a company uses AI in practice—not theory—this role is for you.

Qualifications & Education
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred, but not required
  • Equivalent hands‑on experience building and deploying real systems is valued equally
Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience building and deploying internal tools or automations that are actively used by teams
  • Experience owning systems end‑to‑end: concept, build, deploy, support, and iteration
  • Strong understanding of workflow automation, data flow, and exception handling
  • Ability to translate messy, real‑world processes into reliable, repeatable systems
  • Comfortable working directly with non‑technical teams (production, sales, operations)
Technical Capabilities
  • Strong programming or scripting ability (e.g., Python, JavaScript, or similar)
  • Experience integrating systems via APIs, automation platforms, or custom workflows
  • Familiarity with AI‑enabled workflows beyond prompt usage (e.g., routing, QA, guardrails, validation)
  • Solid IT fundamentals:
    • Microsoft 365 administration
    • User access and permissions
    • Basic security practices (MFA, backups, least‑privilege access)
Experience That Will Set You Apart
  • Exposure to production graphics, prepress, or screen‑printing workflows
  • Experience working with vector and raster design pipelines
  • Automation work in sales ops, prospecting, or go‑to‑market systems
  • History of replacing manual spreadsheets or ad‑hoc processes with durable systems

We care far more about what you’ve built than where you went to school.
If you can show us systems you’ve built that people rely on every day, your background matters less than your execution.
