Accounting Manager at Goal Investment Group Inc – San Diego, California

Company Overview: Financial services firm offering hybrid work in San Diego, CA.

Position Summary: This role oversees the monthly close process and annual audit, manages transactions, reconciles GL accounts, and supervises a small team. The position requires strong accounting expertise, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage monthly close and maintain financial records across all GL accounts
• Prepare journal entries and resolve account variances through regular analysis
• Reconcile consumer loan activities, cash, and other accounts
• Handle corporate cash management including wires and ACHs
• Support investor reporting and audit preparations
• Document and improve accounting processes
• Contribute to financial analyses and special projects

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• Thorough understanding of GAAP, including consumer lending topics
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• ERP proficiency and strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• CPA certification
• Has owned the monthly close and audit processes for a company or division
• Financial services or consumer lending accounting background
• Team management experience
• Oracle NetSuite experience
• Technology forward approach to process improvement
