Responsibilities
The Plant Service Engineer is responsible for the successful implementation of various manufacturing platforms that are used for production in both domestic and international locations. The Plant Services Engineer acts as the project manager for the implementation projects in a designated region. Plant Service Group engineers are the liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing. Travel exceeds 50% and support multiple plants and manufacturing platforms both domestic and international.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership support for Equipment Installations
- Implement PM Programs
- Routinely provide hands-on equipment and process troubleshooting & training
- Perform AutoCAD drawings and functions while maintaining mechanical and electrical drawing files
- Install new production lines
- Support Engineering on R & D of new equipment and processes.
- Have “regional” responsibility, providing multi-plant assistance
- Travel > 75%
Job Skills:
This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:
- Plastic extrusion or injection mold experience
- PLC troubleshooting skills
- Strong project management skills
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting aptitude
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Work autonomously and with minimal supervision
- Ability to work within a Team environment
Educational Requirements:
- Prefer minimum 2-yr Associates Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Plastics, or equivalent.
Preferred Experience:
- Read and write Fluently in English and Spanish as needed.
- At least 5 years in a manufacturing environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Work safely in and around plant equipment
- Work within the plant climate conditions
- Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes
- Position requires full range of body motion including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles
- Ability to stand and be mobile for a minimum of 8 continuous hours
