Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and a passion for helping individuals regain their mobility and improve their quality of life. This role involves working with patients across various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and home health environments. The Physical Therapist will develop individualized care plans, implement therapeutic interventions, and monitor patient progress.
Duties
- Implement treatment plans designed by the supervising Physical Therapist to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.
- Guide patients through prescribed therapeutic exercises and activities.
- Provide hands-on therapy techniques, such as stretching and strengthening exercises, within the PTA scope of practice.
- Observe and document patient performance and progress, reporting any changes to the Physical Therapist.
- Assist with patient education regarding home exercise programs and safe mobility practices.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient interactions using EMR systems.
- Ensure a safe and clean working environment by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Contribute to discharge planning by providing input on patient readiness and home care needs.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Proven experience in acute care, outpatient clinics, or home health settings.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to patient assessments and treatments.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals requiring specialized orthopedic care.
- Background in home & community care is preferred but not mandatory.
