The schedule can be determined based upon operational need but is the same hours each week. Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties. | N = Never

Job Description:

• Conduct forensic extractions and examinations of electronic devices, including cellular phones
• Identify, preserve, and analyze digital evidence to support criminal investigations and case development
• Review and assess large volumes of data to identify relevant evidence and investigative leads
• Detect patterns, connections, and inconsistencies to support investigative findings
• Prepare clear, accurate, and detailed reports for investigative and legal purposes
• Collaborate with detectives and investigative personnel on active and complex cases
• Ensure all digital evidence is handled and processed in compliance with established procedures and evidentiary standards

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to assess complex information
• High attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information
• Ability to evaluate data, identify patterns, and draw logical, evidence-based conclusions
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Interest or experience in digital forensics, criminal investigations, or a related field preferred

Required Qualifications:

• Two years of experience conducting digital forensic downloads of electronics
• Minimum of 2 years of law enforcement
• VCIN certification or ability to obtain
• Certified Cellbrite Operator/Analyst and/or Graykey Magnet Certified examiner
