Maintenance Technician at MKB – Poseyville, Indiana

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment within the manufacturing facility. This role is critical to minimizing downtime and ensuring a safe, efficient, and productive work environment.

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues
• Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and appropriate testing instruments
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
• Monitor and inspect equipment for wear, misalignment, or other signs of malfunction
• Respond promptly to maintenance service requests to minimize production delays
• Assist with installation and setup of new equipment or production lines
• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with operations and production staff to ensure equipment readiness
• Maintain clean and organized maintenance work areas
• Order and manage spare parts inventory as needed
• Participate in ongoing safety training and promote a culture of safety in the workplace

• Complete other duties as assigned

Required Skills/ Abilities

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, motors, conveyors, and hydraulics
• Familiarity with electrical systems, wiring, sensors, and basic PLCs
• Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, crouch, and work in physically demanding environments

Education/ Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience in industrial or manufacturing maintenance

Working Conditions

• Environment: The position involves working in a manufacturing facility where temperatures may vary depending on the season. Employees may be exposed to outdoor elements during certain tasks, and the work environment can be noisy due to the operation of machinery.

• Physical Demands: This role requires regular physical activity, including moving items weighing up to 50 lbs., remaining in a stationary position for extended periods, and performing repetitive tasks. To be successful in this position, you should be comfortable with manual labor and able to maintain a steady pace throughout your shift.

Personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection, will be provided and must be worn at all times in designated areas.
