POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for providing oversight and direct day-to-day management for a Department of Energy Administrative Support project. Interface with clients regarding project status. Ensure project scope elements are completed in accordance with contract specification and requirements. Manage profit and loss for assigned projects.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

BS degree, which can be substituted with equivalent experience. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience managing direct hire professional technical services projects. Experience with DOE managing professional technical service contracts is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven history and demonstrated knowledge in effectively managing projects in excess of $10M dollars.
  • Excellent project management skills, managing safety, cost, schedule, risk, change conditions, and contract management.
  • Solid understanding and experience developing budgets, proposals,s and developing technical work documents.
  • Understanding of quality assurance (QA), quality control (QC) processes, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of radiological contamination control (preferred).

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Highly skilled in using computers and all MS Office products.
  • Excellent management skills and ability to manage and supervise others.
  • Ability to work with time constraints and complete projects on time.
  • Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work in a high-stress environment.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Ability to apply lessons learned as it relates to project management, quality, safety, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders and organize work with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to learn new methods and systems.
  • Ability to communicate and effectively interact with co-workers, supervisors, and the general public, sufficient to exchange or convey information and to give and receive work direction.
  • Previous experience working with union craftsmen
  • Demonstrated experience in a Windows Office environment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, which includes 7-year employment verification, Department of Motor Vehicles record search, criminal record search, and verification of education, certifications, and licenses as applicable to the position.
  • Must occasionally be available for extra (OT) hours.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Create, maintain, and generate Excel spreadsheet reports as required and provide to the Program Manager as well as customers.
  • Conduct project/safety meetings as required.
  • Review and approve daily, weekly, and monthly project status reports; submit to the Director of Operations as required.
  • Approve procurement of equipment, parts, and supplies as needed.
  • Track costs and revenue of assignment projects and be accountable for the financial health of assigned projects.
  • Monitor all project tasks and subcontractor compliance to contractual requirements to meet or exceed project schedule/milestones.
  • Use logic to analyze or identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts associated with information or data to draw conclusions.
  • Manage trends & change conditions within assigned projects, estimate new change orders, and manage the process through contract modification
  • Assist with proposal efforts, Requests for Adjustments, etc., as needed.
  • Mentor junior Site Leads.

MENTAL & COGNITIVE DEMANDS:

  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret data; provide responses in a timely and professional manner; able to write routine work orders; able to communicate clearly and succinctly on a basic and technical level.
  • Must be able to document issues and resulting resolutions.
  • Must be able to solve problems.
  • Must possess basic computer skills and basic maintenance and repair aptitude.
  • Ability to solve practical problems; ability to interpret and understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to verbally communicate with, hear, and understand others.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to walk, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements of the fingers, hands, wrists, and arms.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include):

Performs other assigned tasks or duties as directed by the Managing Director, Mission Services.

JOB DIMENSIONS:

Supervision Received:

  • Reports to and receives supervision from the Managing Director, Mission Services.
  • Supervise project personnel and subcontracted personnel.

Interface Required:

  • Interfaces with all staff, project personnel, corporate administrative support staff, customers, vendors, and regulatory agencies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to normal office conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
