About This Position
- Position Summary:
The Clinical Nutrition Manager plans, schedules, coordinates and supervises, the operations of the clinical nutrition staff. Primary responsibilities include supervision of clinical dietitians, clinical supervisors, diet clerk, and Catering Associates; developing standards and monitoring clinical performance, updating policies, supports fiscal responsibility, participates in quality and patient safety initiatives, promotes service excellence, and ensures the Standards of Behavior of the clinical nutrition staff.
- Qualifications:
A. Education:
Registered Dietitian with active registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetic Association; Texas State Licensure, certification in specialty practice may also be required depending on practice area.
B. Training and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience as a clinical dietitian, with minimum of 2 years supervisory experience preferred.
C. Job Knowledge:
Comprehensive knowledge and application of medical nutrition therapy. Knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing and spreadsheet software. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form to patients, staff, physicians and management staff. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the work of others. Ability to organize tasks and work independently. Demonstrated leadership and administrative experience. Proven ability in meeting and maintaining budget goals.
- Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Must be able to work under stress. Good verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Walking throughout the hospital on patient floors is required. Travel to clinics possible. May encounter exposure to infectious diseases.
