POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for all functions related to the registration of patients and will cross train in Main registration, Emergency Department registration, and Outpatient areas.

Some of the job duties include but are not limited to:

• • • Greet patients professionally, register patients by gathering and entering patient information into the hospital computer system, validate and verify medical insurance plans, collect payments, ensure patients fill out all necessary registration forms, file patient records, direct patients to where their appointments are. Work collaboratively with internal and external departments to ensure all information is entered as needed, accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Treat patients with utmost courtesy and respect in accordance with the Patient Bill of Rights.
    • Work shifts as directed, demonstrating flexibility with vacation, holiday and sick call outs to support the operations of the department. Fill in as needed on Saturday mornings.
    • Maintain knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations and policies, procedures and standards.
    • Actively participate in creating and implementing improvements to achieve patient satisfaction.

QUALIFICATION

• • EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

• • EXPERIENCE/SKILL SETS:
    • • Registration or office experience desirable, preferably in a hospital environment.
      • Friendly, positive, helpful disposition.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Ability to multitask in a busy environment
      • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
