Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to support our rehabilitation team. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the OTA will assist in implementing treatment plans, helping patients develop or regain essential motor skills and functional independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in carrying out patient treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and assistive devices.
  • Observe, document, and report patient progress to the Occupational Therapist.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant records of therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Uphold ethical and professional standards in all interactions and therapy sessions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Licensure: Active Occupational Therapy Assistant license in Missouri.
  • Certification: NBCOT certification (preferred).
  • Experience: Prior experience in rehabilitation or clinical settings preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, interpersonal, and patient-care skills.
  • Certifications: CPR certification (preferred).

Work Environment:

  • Full-time or PRN (as-needed) opportunities available.
  • Skilled Nursing Facility.
  • Requires adaptability and teamwork within a patient-centered care model.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as an Occupational Therapist Assistant required

Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills

Tech-savvy with the ability to navigate electronic documentation

Areas of Responsibility:

Under supervision of an Occupational Therapist and in accordance with an established plan of care, provides prescribed occupational therapy treatment and services, instruction, and guidance to patients with functional limitations.

Other duties as assigned, within scope of practice

Communication with interdisciplinary team with focus on case managing patient's needs, not minutes!
