Salary Range: $190,000 – $257,058.82 annually

- M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine
- Current Hawaiʻi State Medical License (or ability to obtain)
- Meets all credentialing requirements in Hawaiʻi
- Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and/or Pediatrics preferred
- Experience in a community health center and/or working with low‑income, culturally diverse populations preferred
The Medical Provider delivers comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan using the latest clinical guidelines and evidence‑based medicine. Providers work collaboratively within an integrated, patient‑centered health care team and serve as advocates for patient health and wellness.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Provide a full scope of primary care services, including assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, prescribing, and health education
- Manage acute and chronic conditions, preventive care, and age‑appropriate health maintenance
- Refer patients to specialists as needed
- Participate as an active member of a multidisciplinary care team
- Supervise medical students, residents, or other health professional learners as appropriate
- Provide timely follow‑up and phone advice according to clinic protocols
- Utilize nationally recognized clinical guidelines and protocols
- Complete accurate and timely documentation in the EHR (within 48 hours, preferably same day)
- Serve as a patient advocate and support care coordination
- Participate in quality improvement, peer review, and performance evaluation activities
- Support clinic safety, emergency preparedness, and compliance requirements
Please Note:
Providers do not have inpatient hospital coverage, admitting privileges, or obstetrical deliveries. After‑hours availability is shared according to HICHC guidelines.
- Participate in staff, provider, and quality meetings
- Maintain licensure, board certification, and continuing education requirements
- Uphold HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
- Serve as a positive role model and collaborative team member
- Support the mission, vision, and goals of the Health Center
- Represent HICHC in community initiatives as requested
