About This Position

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and hardworking Industrial Janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment within our warehouse and production facility. This role is crucial in ensuring our warehouse, and assembly spaces remain clean and well-maintained to meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance:

o Perform daily cleaning tasks throughout the facility, including warehouse floors, production areas, break rooms, bathrooms, and office spaces.

o Sweep, mop, and scrub floors; and clean windows, walls, and other surfaces as needed.

o Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. Remove pallets and other refuse to the dumpster on property.

o Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies (soap, paper towels, etc.).

  • Equipment and Facility Upkeep:

o Maintain cleanliness around machinery, production areas, and equipment, ensuring safety and preventing buildup of dirt, dust, and debris that could affect operations.

o Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as changing lightbulbs, fixing leaks, or notifying supervisors of any major issues.

o Operate a powered floor scrubber to clean large surface areas efficiently.

  • Forklift Operation:

o Safely operate a forklift to move, transport, and store cleaning supplies, building materials, pallets, or waste to containers as needed.

o Assist with handling materials in the warehouse to support cleaning activities or facility organization.

  • Safety Compliance:

o Adhere to safety guidelines, including the proper use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety gear (gloves, goggles, etc.).

o Regularly inspect the warehouse for hazards such as wet floors, loose items, or anything that could cause a slip or fall.

o Salt and shovel around exterior doors in the winter time.

o Ensure cleaning materials and chemicals are stored safely in compliance with OSHA and company standards.

  • Inventory and Supplies:

o Monitor cleaning supply levels and notify the facility manager when stock is low or needs replenishing.

o Maintain proper inventory records for cleaning supplies, tools, and equipment.

  • General Facility Support:

o Perform occasional deep cleaning tasks during shutdowns or scheduled maintenance periods.

o Assist in organizing inventory and materials in storage areas to help improve workflow efficiency.

o Support other departments with facility cleaning needs when required.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, first shift position. Average hours worked per week may vary depending on our workload.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in industrial or commercial cleaning, preferably in a warehouse, manufacturing, or production environment.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and follow instructions precisely.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Good physical stamina to lift, bend, and perform repetitive cleaning tasks.
  • Must be reliable and able to work flexible hours (including nights or weekends if needed).
  • Valid forklift operator certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
  • Familiarity with safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Experience driving a powered floor scrubber is a plus.
