Are you ready to be a part of something groundbreaking? Mainstay is the leading market intelligence platform purpose-built for buying, managing, and selling homes in the single-family rental industry. We empower informed decision-making and unlock opportunities for owners, operators, and residents by aggregating and standardizing data from over 50 unique sources. Originally founded within Opendoor, Mainstay launched as an independent company in 2024, driven by our mission to simplify the complex and bring clarity and trust to the single-family rental ecosystem. Join us as we reshape the future of the industry!

About the Team
Join Mainstay’s innovative engineering team, a group of passionate and collaborative individuals dedicated to building and scaling solutions that drive decision-making across the single-family rental real estate lifecycle. The team thrives on tackling challenging problems, creating intuitive and high-performing systems, and delivering impactful solutions.

What you'll do
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, high-performing interfaces for our proprietary platforms, including HOA Intelligence and Management tools. Your work will directly enhance efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve customer experiences across the industry.

You are expected to:
  • Contributing to all phases of product development, including ideation, prototyping, and implementation
  • Building frontend products and tools from scratch, as well as evolving existing products
  • Designing the next iteration of our Frontend architecture to scale across multiple engineering teams.
  • Applying your technical expertise to guide the team in making intelligent and pragmatic design decisions
  • Partnering with product managers, designers, and operators to identify and solve customer pain points

What we're looking for

  • A track record of approximately 7+ years building and delivering production-quality web frontend products, with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience using React in production environments.
  • Excellent communication skills — clear written and oral communication is important to our ability to operate as a remote team.
  • Demonstrated frontend engineering fundamentals — while we value transferable experience in system design and scaling products, proficiency in React and modern frontend development workflows (e.g., component-based design, state management, and performance optimization) is essential.
  • A strong sense of ownership and customer empathy — we work very closely with our internal and external customers, and maintaining positive working relationships with them is paramount to the success of our business.
