Assistant Night Shift Warehouse Manager - Evening (2nd) Shift

M. Price Distributing Co. - One of the leading Beverage Distributors in Southeast Virginia is currently looking to fill the Assistant Night Shift Warehouse Manager position. We are a fast-paced, relationship-driven company that is looking for professional individuals who are dedicated; and have strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.

Position Summary: The Assistant Night Shift Warehouse Manager; is an important member of the management team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to responsible supervision of the night functions of the warehouse, managing proper order picking for the next day's sales, loading trucks for delivery, and ensuring all employees are working in a manner that maximizes safety and productivity.

Work Schedule: Sunday-Thursday (off Friday and Saturday)

Shift Times: Start 2:30 PM | End time varies

Starting Pay: $40,000 - $44,000 depending on experience

Full Time: 40+ hours a week

Essential Job Functions:

• Supervise order picking to limit damages, ensure accuracy of orders, and stability of load assisting as needed

• Supervise the wrapping process of pallets and carts to maximize productivity and ensure safety

• Supervise and assist as needed with the loading of trucks for delivery

• Maintain a safe operating environment for all warehouse crew, ensure that safety standards are maintained and all protocols are being enforced

• Continual supervision of all forklift operators to ensure their driving, placement, and handling of products comply with company safety standards

• Work directly with the Night Shift Manager to maintain efficiency

• Responsible for paperwork, system uploads, and evening close-out procedures in the absence of the Night Shift Manager

• Assist with current staff and new hire training

• Ability to operate all machinery (forklifts, pallet jacks, shrink wrap machines), and position and park our fleet of trucks.

• Ability to move kegs and packages weighing more than 170 pounds

• Responsible for proper product rotation by date and inventory control

• Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of the warehouse.

• Ability to traverse areas quickly, be mobile for 95 percent of the shift, and work in a climate-controlled environment

Job requirements:

• Must have a valid Driver’s license and meet our insurance provider’s acceptable driving criteria

• H.S. or GED required

• 1+ year (s) related warehouse / retail experience with some supervisor experience

• 1+ year (s) forklift experience

• Experience backing up trailer (preferred)

• Ability to lift 25-50 pounds consistently

• Detail-orientated, with the ability to work under tight deadlines

• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Ability to communicate and express expectations in a clear and professional manner

• Ability to work nights and weekends
