Overview

Complete Building Services, a building operations/facilities maintenance company, is currently seeking a Part-Time Stationary Engineer in Culpeper, VA. CBS is a division of The Donohoe Companies, Inc. - Washington's oldest real estate company.

The Stationary Engineer (SE) operates and maintains the assigned facility and performs tours of areas and/or equipment. Additionally, the SE performs PM service calls, diagnostic services, incidental, minor and major repairs. The Stationary Engineer shall possess a Class 3 Steam Engineer (DC) or First Grade Engineer (MD). The shift is every other Sunday 0000–1200 with additional hours/days on a backfill basis.

Responsibilities

Primary hours: part-time every other Sunday 0000–1200. Additional hours/days on a backfill basis.

Responsibilities include:

• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair of the HVAC systems and associated equipment
• Maintain plant and equipment in sound operating condition
• Provide direction and support to sub-contractors designated to perform repair of plant, equipment and/or hardware
• Interface with building managers and other customer representatives in order to ensure client satisfaction
• Accurately document work performed on trouble tickets or work orders
• Operate and perform Preventive Maintenance on HVAC and associated equipment
• Perform Refrigerant recovery and recycling
• Operate Building Energy management System (EMS) and Building Controls
• Place and/or remove systems, hardware and equipment as required
• Perform other related duties as assigned. Must be on-site during the assigned hours and available to respond to on-site emergencies

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent
• Must possess a valid stationary engineer's license equivalent to Class 3 Steam Engineer (DC) or First Grade Engineer (MD)
• Must pass government background check
• Completion of 4-year HVAC Apprentice or equivalent training Program
• Completed coursework in HVAC areas
• Universal CFC Certification (written proof required)
• Minimum of four (4) years of related experience with HVAC systems
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation
• Able to lift to sixty (60) pounds
• Capable of ascending ladders to a height of thirty (30) feet
