Job Description:
SimIS in support of the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land-Maritime Norfolk, provides on-call Program Management Office services (sustainment, modernization, cybersecurity, systems integration, engineering, and data analytics) for DLA’s Material Operations Support (MOS) application for material procurement processes and shipyard operations. SimIS seeks a Database Manager to lead the development, maintenance, and optimization of enterprise database systems. In this role, you will oversee system design, data architecture, and performance management while ensuring reliability, security, and scalability. You’ll collaborate with application developers to plan and execute data solutions, manage resources for maximum efficiency, and guide backup and recovery strategies.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain database systems.
- Manage database systems, system design and analysis, operating systems software, and internal and data manipulation languages.
- Support application developers in planning preparation, load analysis, and backup and recovery of data.
- Plan and budget for data resources. Reallocate resources to maximize benefits.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on Database Management System (DBMS) concepts.
- Monitor performance and evaluate areas to improve efficiency.
- 10% travel required.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience.
- BS Degree in Information Management preferred.
- Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority.
- Experience in the development and maintenance of database systems.
- Experience with management of database systems, system design and analysis, operating systems software, and internal and data manipulation languages.
