Revenue Cycle Specialist in Soldotna, Alaska at Central Peninsula Hospital

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the guidance of the Revenue Cycle Director and Patient Financial Services Manager, this position supports the Revenue Cycle Team by addressing various needs within the Patient Financial Services and Central Billing Office Departments. Acting as a departmental float, the role encompasses responsibilities in critical areas such as Insurance Precertification, Payment Posting, Assistant Financial Counseling, and Medical Billing. Cross-training is provided to ensure the ability to perform essential job functions for Revenue Cycle positions during staff absences or peak periods, ensuring uninterrupted service and maintaining productivity. Additionally, this role undertakes special projects to enhance the overall health of the Revenue Cycle.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or (GED)
• 2 years of general office experience OR 2 years of medical office experience

PREFERRED:

Certified Patient Account Technician or similar certification, knowledge of Third-party insurance practices & regulations, and general knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
