Medical Assistant - Allergy & Immunology at Head and Neck Surgery, Assoc., PSC – Edgewood, Kentucky

Job Summary:

As a vital member of our Clinical Care Team, the Allergy/Immunology Medical Assistant (AI MA) plays a key role in supporting both direct and indirect patient care. This position combines clinical and administrative responsibilities to ensure optimal patient outcomes, exceptional customer service, and a professional environment for patients and staff.

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program (MA, RMA, CMA required)
• 1–2 years of experience in a medical office setting preferred
• Prior experience in Allergy and/or Immunology strongly preferred
• Current BLS and CPR certification preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

• Schedule patient appointments and prepare charts for upcoming visits
• Interview patients to gather medical history and measure vital signs, height, and weight
• Escort patients to exam rooms and assist with room turnover
• Document patient information, vital statistics, and test results in medical records
• Administer medications and perform testing as directed by the physician
• Handle patient phone calls, prescription refills, and prior authorizations for medications and biologics
• Provide patient education under provider guidance
• Maintain clean and well-stocked treatment rooms and sterilize instruments
• Ensure OSHA compliance and maintain a safe working environment
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and protect patient privacy
• Monitor inventory and order medical and office supplies as needed
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development
