Position Description:
This is role for an Engineer who ideally comes with a background or degree in Civil Engineering who wants to learn and contribute in a precast/prestressed environment. A person who is highly dependable with a strong work ethic and enjoys a collaborative work environment is the type of person who will be successful in this role. Other key components beyond the ability to learn and understand the technical requirements of the role are the ability to learn from others, value of relationships and interaction with internal and external customers and has exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. REPORTING STRUCTURE AND KEY RELATIONSHIPS
- Reporting to: Chief Engineer and Drafting Manager
- Direct Reports: N/A
- Key Internal Partners: Sales, Project Development, Engineering, Manufacturing and Project Management
- Key External Partners: Subcontractors, Customers
PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performing project engineering coordination with subcontracted design firms
- CAD and REVIT drawing modifications for use in manufacturing
- Initially with support then independently check engineering design calculations and details for accuracy and adherence to Unistress standards and our engineering design process
- Develop engineering skills to support internal and field remedial efforts to support business objectives
- Resolving design issues from drafting subcontractors
- Participating in project meetings
- Engage in development and training opportunities to leverage technical knowledge to projects.
- Act as a liaison for the Unistress initiative to support the company in project support efforts.

Position Requirements:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND COMPETENCIES
- Working towards Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant engineering field. Credit hours in Structural Analysis and Reinforced Concrete Design is highly valued.
- Ability to get Engineer in Training certification within one year of hire
- Proven ability to utilize, learn and apply software platforms to the work flow to optimize results
- Excellent communication skills to keep a matrixed environment informed through the project life cycle
- A mind for continuous improvement not settling on the stats quo
