This role requires strong full stack expertise, a deep understanding of healthcare interoperability standards, and experience working with major EHR platforms. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including clinical informatics, product management, and QA to ensure integrations meet both technical and regulatory requirements. The position offers a dynamic, fast-paced, and remote-friendly environment with opportunities for technical growth and contribution to meaningful healthcare outcomes.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain integrations with ambulatory EHR platforms including Epic, Cerner, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, and others
  • Build and manage HL7 FHIR (R4/R5) and HL7 v2.x interfaces for clinical data exchange, including ADT, CCD, CCDA, results, orders, and scheduling
  • Develop full stack features across front-end (React, Angular, or Vue) and back-end (Node.js, Python, Java, .NET) systems
  • Implement SMART on FHIR and OAuth 2.0 authentication flows for secure EHR app launches and patient-facing integrations
  • Collaborate with clinical, product, and QA teams to translate healthcare workflows into scalable technical solutions
  • Ensure all integrations comply with HIPAA, HL7, and ONC interoperability standards
  • Monitor integration pipelines, troubleshoot data mapping issues, and maintain production uptime and SLAs
  • Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and sprint planning

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience integrating with ambulatory EHR platforms (Epic, Cerner, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency with HL7 FHIR (R4/R5) and RESTful API development
  • Familiarity with HL7 v2.x message formats and SMART on FHIR / OAuth 2.0 flows
  • Solid full stack development skills, comfortable across the entire application stack
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
  • Understanding of HIPAA privacy and security requirements in a software development context
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and integration problem-solving skills
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of working with clinical and technical teams

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary range $130,000–$160,000 per year, adjusted for experience and background
  • Remote-first work environment with flexibility and autonomy
  • Health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one
  • 401(k) plan with employer match, immediately vested
  • 17 company holidays plus 2 floating holidays and competitive paid time off policy
  • Internal advancement opportunities and professional development support
  • Work on meaningful projects that directly impact patient care and clinical efficiency
