Staff Accountant, Environmental Services-FT at Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement – Charleston, South Carolina

Bishop Gadsden is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support our Environmental Services department while working closely with the Finance team. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys ensuring accuracy in financial processes.

As an Accounting Specialist, you will:

• Process purchases and invoices accurately and on time using PN3 and Sage.
• Assist with inventory reconciliation, cycle counts, and physical inventory as needed.
• Review and code Accounts Payable entries, reconcile vendor accounts, and ensure proper G/L coding.
• Manage project costs, assign project numbers, and conduct financial analysis.
• Reconcile credit card statements and assist with audit schedules.
• Help maintain best-practice accounting controls and support fixed asset tracking.
• Collaborate with team members while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.

• Education & Experience:
  • Associate degree in Accounting or 2–3 years of related experience.
  • Experience in construction or project management accounting preferred, but not required.
• Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with colleagues and vendors.
